As I see it, we (the human race) are in a frenzy of development. Development mobilizes our economy. And as I look around I can’t help notice that there’s not much left out there to develop. Our home, earth can old hold so much, we have maxed out the limit of human development on our planet. As a result, development has naturally slowed, but we refuse to accept limitations, and continue pushing for more space – crowding, clashing and crashing.
However, the planet will not succumb to our persistent ignorance and unwillingness to listen and heed. Earth stands strong; she rumbles crumbling that which she will no longer with stand. And she wins, and so do her people – the economy is her latest victim. It spun fast for some time, today it shakes and spins more slowly, it sways and teeters resembling a top before it stops and tips toward the ground. That my friends, is why I believe the economy has slowed down. And this is proof enough to know that we can not continually living the way we do (or contributing to the reproduction of the way of life that was lived by those before us) – I can not continue living the way I have been brought up to live, or perpetuate the society that taught me these ways. I must find and choose to commit to an unearthed way.
I will watch the economy tumble and seek not to fix or reinstate it in anyway that existed before. The previous economy that drove and is still striving to drive life on this planet has failed. A new way awaits our construction. Until we accept this, and drop our ego and egos across this planet…until the human race can look forward and say we are able to accept the limitations of our individual selves and be humbled by our interdependence – then we will learn and begin to grow on this planet in a more righteous way. It is this time that is coming.
