The Editors of mypeacecity are pleased to announce the following Call for Papers.
Papers are solicited on any aspect of peace, nonviolence, social change, sustainability and well-being. Papers can be academic, theoretical or journalistic in nature. mypeacecity is looking for thoughtful, well-researched, and interesting essays on peace, social justice and activism. We are most interested in articles that highlight creative solutions to traditional human problems and offer a vision for a more peaceful and sustainable world. Examples of suitable paper topics include:
- War, violence and social change
- Civil disobedience and nonviolent resistance
- Responsibility and commitment
- Activist methods
- Social justice
- Immigration
- Gay Rights
- Social welfare
- The economy, consumerism and peace
- Nonviolence in practice
- Activism 2.0: New media, social networks and social change
- Peace and politics, how does the peace activist engage in politics?
- Personalizing sustainability: what are you doing?
- Spirituality in the global age
- Well-being: Meditation, mindfulness and yoga
WHO CAN SUBMIT AN ESSAY?
Community activists, nonviolent practitioners, undergraduate and graduate students, theorists, educators and professionals interested in peace, nonviolence, sustainability and well-being are invited to submit essays for consideration of publication in mypeacecity. All essays are expected to be suitable for a wide audience and focus on issues related to peace, social justice, sustainability and well-being. Students who have written relevant papers as class assignments are especially encouraged to submit.
